LINCOLN, Neb. – Two-thirds of the annual Concordia Bulldog Spring Invitational is in the books following action on a windy Tuesday (April 2) at Highlands Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb. The Bulldogs are settled in eighth place out of 13 teams with 36 holes complete. While navigating the home course, Concordia Women’s Golf shot a two-round score of 367-362.–729.
Head Coach Brett Muller’s program welcomed golfers from 13 institutions to the two-day home event. The field includes GPAC rivals such as Morningside, Briar Cliff, Doane, Mount Marty, Northwestern, Dakota Wesleyan, Dordt, Hastings and College of Saint Mary.
The field of 83 golfers at the Concordia Invite includes eight Bulldogs. Sophomore Emery Custer turned in the best results on Tuesday with her total of 90-85–175, placing her in a tie for 13th with 18 holes to be contested. The two through five spots in the lineup, so far, are held down by Mya Nurse (94-88–182; T-30th), Jennifer Gillotti (90-95–185; T-40th), Maddie Lewis (93-98–191; 56th) and Logan Eschliman (103-94–197; 67th).
Though Concordia sits in eighth place, it is not far off the likes of the University of Nebraska-Kearney (718), Des Moines Area Community College (727) and Mount Marty (728) heading into day two. Individually, Custer stands four strokes out of 10th place.
