YANKTON, S.D. – Nine Bulldogs got the 2023-24 season started for Concordia University Women’s Golf at the Mount Marty Invite on Thursday (Aug. 31). Four competitors shot 90 or lower while taking on Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton, S.D. The ‘A’ grouping for the Bulldogs carded a 353 and resides in seventh place out of 18 teams with one round left to be completed at the tournament.
Head Coach Brett Muller’s program seeks to move up the ladder after placing 10th in the GPAC last season. Concordia returns GPAC Newcomer of the Year Emery Custer.
Based on round one of the season, Custer will have competition at the top of the Bulldog lineup from former Concordia volleyball player Maddie Lewis. The Treynor, Iowa, native Lewis headed the lineup on Thursday with an 86 (+14) that puts her in a tie for 20th place out of 91 individuals in the tournament field. Custer followed closely behind with an 87. The next best rounds that counted towards the team score were the 90s carded by both Logan Eschliman and Sarah Wilson.
