
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – As part of a unique format, Concordia University, Nebraska Women’s Golf lost one and then won one on Thursday (March 27). The Bulldogs are one of eight teams in the field at the Briar Cliff Match Play Tournament being held at Green Valley Golf Course in Sioux City, Iowa. Concordia fell at the hands of Dakota Wesleyan, 4.5 to 0.5, before bouncing back with a 3-2 win over Northwestern on the back side of the bracket. The event is made up of eight teams.
Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad will attempt to claim fifth place when the event resumes on Friday morning. The Briar Cliff Match Play Tournament marks the third outing of the spring for the Bulldogs.
In the day’s first contest, Concordia dropped four of the five matches to Dakota Wesleyan. At the No. 3 spot in the lineup, freshman Savannah McFalls halved (tied) with her opponent. In match No. 2, the Bulldogs responded with wins coming from junior Emery Custer and senior Sarah Wilson. An additional team point was earned via McFalls and Gillotti, both of whom halved. In this format, an individual match is over when one player is winning by more holes than there are holes remaining to be played.

All teams in the field will play one final match on Friday from Green Valley Golf Course. Round three is scheduled to get underway with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. CT in Sioux City, Iowa. There are no live results for the event, but updates will be provided by @cunebulldogs and @CUNEBulldogGolf on X. The Concordia women will take on Dordt to close out the tournament.
