COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – The performances fell short of expectations for Concordia University Women’s Golf at the two-round Bent Tree Intercollegiate hosted by Iowa Western Community College on Monday and Tuesday (April 17-18). The Bulldogs carded identical team scores of 386 on both days while playing the course at Bent Tree Golf Club in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Concordia placed fifth out of six teams while being led by junior Mya Nurse.
Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad totaled a cumulative score of 772 at the Bent Tree Intercollegiate. The top four teams in the field were Iowa Western (639), Bellevue University (655), Briar Cliff (679) and College of Saint Mary (712). The field included 38 individuals.
The West Des Moines, Iowa, native Nurse was the lone Bulldog to shoot a score in the 80s in ether of the two rounds. She placed in a tie for 20th while shooting 89-93–182. She was followed in the team’s top three by Logan Eschliman (95-96–191; 25th) and Lauren Havlat (95-98–193; 26th). While many Concordia competitors shot higher scores than normal, the team total was also affected by the absence of freshman Emery Custer (season 18-hole average of 86.6).
