LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – Concordia University, Nebraska Women’s Golf has arrived in the Phoenix area for spring break. In round one action at the Southwest Minnesota State University Spring Invite on Monday (March 10), the Bulldogs shot a team season best score of 334 while navigating Wigwam Resort Red Course in Litchfield Park, Ariz. Individually, junior Emery Custer tore it up with a career low round of 76. Concordia stands in 10th place (out of 12) in a field loaded with NCAA Division II programs.
The SMSU Spring Invite marks the beginning of spring semester action for Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad. Concordia has made Litchfield Park its spring break destination for the second time in three years.

A native of Broken Bow, Neb., Custer collected eight pars and three birdies on Monday and currently resides in a tie for 17th place in a field of 79 golfers. The rest of the team’s top four also carded sub-90 scores: freshman Savanna McFalls (84), junior Maddie Lewis (86) and senior Jennifer Gillotti (88). Senior Sarah Wilson rounded out the lineup with a 105 and freshman Audra Poffinbarger competed individually and posted a 105. The 84 for McFalls also represented a career low (bettering her previous low of 87).
Custer managed to break into the 70s for the first time in her collegiate career. She turned in an 80 in four separate fall rounds and entered this week with a team best scoring average of 83.4. Meanwhile, the team began the SMSU Spring Invite averaging a score of 354.3 with a previous season low round of 341 achieved at the Mount Marty Invite back in August.
