SEWARD, Neb. – Five Bulldogs from the Concordia University Women’s Golf program found their way onto the list of 2023-24 All-American Scholars released by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) on Monday (July 1). The Bulldog All-American Scholars are Emery Custer, Logan Eschliman, Jennifer Gillotti, Maddie Lewis and Mya Nurse. A native of Broken Bow, Neb., Custer was also recently recognized as an Academic All-District Team honoree by College Sports Communicators.

According to the WGCA, the criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of our players. To be selected, a student-athlete must:

  • Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
  • Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
  • Have played in 50% of the college’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.

Concordia’s five All-American Scholars each competed for Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad at the 2024 GPAC Championships. Custer placed in a tie for 16th in the conference and was a Second Team All-GPAC honoree. She led the way this past season with an 18-hole scoring average of 86.0. NAIA Scholar-Athlete awards in 2023-24 also went to Custer, Gillotti, Lewis, Nurse and Sarah Wilson.
