LINCOLN, Neb. – Amidst perfect sunny skies at Mahoney Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb., the Concordia University Women’s Golf turned in a season low score of 334 on Saturday (Sept. 24). Leading the way individually at the two-day Nebraska Wesleyan Fall Invitational, senior Lauren Havlat shot a career low 77 and is tied for sixth place on the individual leaderboard. The Bulldogs are coming off a fourth-place finish at Wednesday’s Matthew Goette Fall Classic.
Midway through the NWU Invite, Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad sits in third place out of eight teams. Concordia will enter Sunday’s round trailing only NCAA Division III Central College (321) and Mount Marty (328).
A Norris High School product, Havlat has thrived while taking on the role of the team’s No. 1 golfer. Her pervious career low was an 81. After factoring in Saturday’s round, Havlat owns a team best season scoring average of 83.0. Following Havlat's lead at Mahoney Golf Course, Mya Nurse and Emery Custer shot identical scores of 84. Below is the list of Concordia golfers on day one of the tournament.
