NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. – Back to action for the first time since the season opening Mount Marty Invite, Concordia University Women’s Golf carded a team score of 355 (+71) on the first of two days at the annual Lila Frommelt Fall Classic. The Bulldogs were paced in Wednesday (Sept. 13)’s round by Maddie Lewis and Jennifer Gillotti, who both shot in the low 80s as they navigated Two Rivers Golf Club in North Sioux City, S.D. The field at the Frommelt Classic features 67 golfers from eight institutions.
Out of the 11 total groupings, Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad resides in ninth place. There will be 18 more holes played on Thursday as part of the tournament.
Lewis and Gillotti (student-athletes who previously played other sports at Concordia) have been key additions to the Bulldog lineup. Lewis (Treynor, Iowa) eclipsed the 86 she shot at the Mount Marty Invite and turned in a collegiate personal best of 81 (10 over par) at Two Rivers. Lewis is currently tied for 13th place. Right on her heels is Gillotti, who also put forth her best round as a Bulldog. Gillotti shot an 82 is tied for 17th at the Frommelt Classic.
All nine players on the 2023-24 roster are taking part in the event. The group of five in the Concordia lineup includes Lewis in addition to Emery Custer (87), Logan Eschliman (92), Mya Nurse (95) and Sarah Wilson (100). Complete Bulldog scores from day one are listed below.
