SEWARD, Neb. – Another conference award rolled in on Wednesday (April 14) for Kendra Placke of Concordia University Women’s Golf. The GPAC has named the Seward High School product the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Golfer of the Week. Placke has now garnered the honor in back-to-back weeks and for the fourth time in her career.
A two-time All-GPAC performer, Placke competed in three rounds during the time period that factored into the GPAC weekly award. At the Concordia Bulldog Invite (April 6-7), Placke placed in a tie for third with a two-round total of 78-75–153. Her 75 on day two helped spark the team to a school record low score of 324 for a single round. Then at the Wildcat Classic (April 11-12) hosted by Wayne State College, Placke placed in a tie for ninth with a 36-hole score of 78-83–161. Once again, the team challenged the school record by shooting a 326 on the first day of the Wildcat Classic.
Placke leads the team with a season 18-hole average of 80.8. She won two tournament titles during the fall season. She has placed in the top 10 in eight of nine events in 2020-21.
