SEWARD, Neb. – Courtesy of her performance at the Kansas Wesleyan Invite, Concordia University Women’s Golf standout Kendra Placke has been tabbed the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Golfer of the Week, as announced on Wednesday (April 7). Placke also collected a GPAC weekly honor back in the fall. She owns three career GPAC Golfer of the Week awards.
In a unique dual event that included Concordia and Kansas Wesleyan, Kendra Placke put together a solid two-day effort. In tournament play on day one of the event, Placke carded an 84 and placed third out of 14 golfers. Then on day two, the Seward High School product won (2up) in match play over her opponent from Kansas Wesleyan. Entering this week’s Concordia Bulldog Invite, Placke owned an 18-hole season average of 81.6. She won individual titles at the Lila Frommelt Classic and the Buena Vista Fall Invite.
The Bulldogs will return to action at 10 a.m. CT today (April 7) for the second round of their own invite. They will also play in the upcoming two-day Wayne State Wildcat Classic (April 11-12).
