SEWARD, Neb. – A championship at the Concordia Bulldog Invite resulted in Concordia University Golf standout Kendra Placke being named the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Golfer of the Week, as announced on Wednesday (April 13). Placke has earned the Golfer of the Week honor for the first time in the 2021-22 season and for the fifth time in her career. A week earlier, Jake Hagerbaumer of the Bulldog Men’s Golf program was recognized with the conference weekly award.
The voting for this particular award came prior to Placke also winning this week’s Hastings Invitational. At the Concordia Invite at Highlands Golf Course on April 5, Placke shot a three-over-par 75 and beat out a field of 82 golfers. At the time, it marked the Seward High School alum’s fifth career collegiate tournament win. Then at the Hastings Invite (April 11-12), Placke outperformed a field of 39 individuals by carding a two-round score of 77-82–159 (+10). Placke has now won six tournament titles during her impressive career. Each of her titles are listed below.
· 2019 Nebraska Wesleyan Fall Classic – 79 (+8)
