Bulldogs take eighth at 2006 Concordia Invitational

The Concordia University, Nebraska women's golf team had a big day in a couple of ways on Saturday, Oct. 7. For starters, they shot their best 18-hole score of the year at the Concordia Invitational. In addition the 2006 Concordia Invite was one of the biggest in recent history, featuring 10 teams and 58 golfers.

The tournament was played during windy conditions at the Seward Country Club.

Concordia finished the tournament in eighth place as a team, shooting a total of 403. Dakota Wesleyan ran away with the team title with a 325, 20 strokes better than the next best team, Hastings College (345).

Natalie Swanda paced the Bulldogs carding a 98, good enough for 37th place overall. Teammate Chelsea Karmann took 38th in the individual standings with a 99. Rounding out the scoring for Concordia was Chelsey Bartels (102) and Jennifer Schulteis (104).

Dakota Wesleyan’s Kelli Baseley took the individual title with a 76.

This was final opportunity for conference teams to tune up before the 2006 GPAC Championships held this Thursday and Friday in Blair, Neb.
