2024-25 Concordia Weightlifting Schedule
SEWARD, Neb. – The third year of competition for Concordia University Weightlifting will kick off this October. The program has unveiled a 2024-25 slate featuring four events. The action will get underway on Oct. 19 at the Nebraska State Weightlifting Championships in Omaha. History will be made in April 2025 when the program stages a home meet for the first time ever.
Now entering his third season as head coach, Freddie Myles and company qualified six individuals for the 2024 National University Weightlifting Championships in Columbus, Ohio. Most notably, then sophomore Evan Fukuhara captured the 67 kg national title, making him the first national champion in program history. Three other Bulldogs placed in the top 10 of their respective weight classes.
Following the Nebraska State Weightlifting Championships, Concordia will continue the season with the American Open Weightlifting Finals (Dec. 5-8), the 2025 National University Weightlifting Championships (Feb. 27 – March 2) and the Concordia Weightlifting Open (April 26). The national championships will again be held in Columbus. As for the home competition, the action will unfold inside the Walz Fieldhouse.
