SEWARD, Neb. – Following two years as a graduate assistant, former Bulldog student-athlete Chevy Stout continues to serve Concordia University Nebraska. Officially, Stout began his new full-time role as Men’s & Women’s Lifting Sports and Strength and Conditioning Assistant Coach on April 17. The Grand Island, Neb., native works under Head Lifting Sports Coach Freddie Myles and Director of Strength Conditioning and Training Todd Berner.
Wrote Stout in a statement, “I thank the athletic administration and Coach Myles for providing me with the opportunity to serve the men’s and women’s lifting sports teams. It is a great honor to be able to serve within Concordia University's Christ-centered community. During my time as a graduate assistant, the men’s and women’s lifting sports have been an absolute blast to coach and interact with. I am thrilled to contribute to the growth of this program and work alongside Coach Myles to help the athletes achieve their goals. I would also like to extend my appreciation to Coach Berner for his guidance and the opportunity given to me in strength and conditioning. I look forward to continuing serving within the S&C department as the student-athletes we have here at Concordia make this place special. I am truly thankful to be a part of the Bulldog family!”
A fullback during his time on the football team, Stout earned Honorable Mention All-GPAC accolades in 2020. He earned his bachelor's degree from Concordia in Exercise Science with a minor in Coaching. Stout completed his graduate assistantship with a Master of Science in Coaching and Exercise Science. Stout is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA and holds a United States of America weightlifting certification.
Stout made a positive impression in his role as a graduate assistant. He has worked closely with several Concordia Athletic squads and traveled with the team to a number of lifting sports competitions during the 2022-23 season.

Said Berner of Stout, “Over the past two years, it’s been an honor to have Coach Stout as a graduate assistant for strength and conditioning. Coach Stout is a man of faith and is full of passion for the weightroom. This will serve him well in his new role. I wish him all the best and cannot be happier to keep him as part of the Concordia Family.”
