Bulldogs look to return to GPAC Championship

SEWARD, Neb. – The Concordia women’s soccer team is set to compete in the GPAC Semifinal match against (16) Hastings College. The tilt will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at Hastings. A webcast for the match will be available HERE

The Bulldogs hold a 13-5-1 record over the season after defeating Briar Cliff University in the GPAC Quarterfinal match. In the 4-0 victory, freshman Maria Deeter scored two of the goals while freshman Ashley Martin and sophomore Jessica Skerston scored the remaining two. The contest was played in Sioux City on Thursday, Nov. 5.

The No. 16 Hastings Broncos defeated College of Saint Mary in the GPAC Quarterfinals, 1-0. The victory improved their record to 15-4. Junior Megan Kruse scored the goal for the Broncos in the first half of play.

In the last meeting of the two squads, the Broncos prevailed, 1-0. The match that took place at Hastings was played on Sept. 30. It was the first time in GPAC history that two ranked women’s soccer teams faced off. Kruse was the lone goal scorer for the Broncos. Bulldog keeper Chrissy Lind picked up nine saves in the loss.

Currently in the GPAC, the Bulldogs lead in goals allowed per game (0.68), rank second in total shutouts (10) and are ranked third in goals per game (2.26), total goals (43), assists per game (1.47) and total assists (28).

The next and final round of the GPAC Tournament will take place on Friday, Nov. 13. The winner of the Concordia and Hastings match will take on the winner of the Northwestern and (RV) Morningside contest. A schedule of the remainder of the GPAC Tournament is listed below.

Tuesday, Nov. 10 – Semifinals
