FOREST CITY, Iowa – Concordia University, Nebraska Women’s Soccer scored five goals in a span of 11 minutes to leave no doubt in the 9-0 triumph over Waldorf on Saturday (Oct. 17). The Bulldogs had four different athletes score their first career goal at Bolstorff Field. CUNE scored the most goals since 2025 versus the Warriors (10-0).

Head Coach Jason Weides and the Dawgs are 8-3-3 overall and 7-1-1 in the conference with two games remaining in the regular season.

“The team started well and finished well,” Coach Weides said. “This was one where we were trying to be aggressive and get on the front foot, and we were able to do that early. Ultimately, I think we probably had a season record for being called offsides, which just shows how aggressive we were in the match to get forward and create chances. It certainly was fun to see some people score the first goals of their careers. It was really fun to celebrate other people's success. No matter who was in, the team was really supportive. I'm excited to see people get time and celebrate those successes.”

Avery Black started the goal scoring frenzy. The junior fired a shot that was saved and the high-speed winger shot tracked the rebound for her first career goal. The Elkhorn South product also found the back of the net in the 40th minute for a brace.

Concordia defenders kept finding nylon as Triniti Rowe ran up to blasted her first career score in the 90th minute. Back-end scorers also included finishes from Addie Snyder and Braelyn Popple. The Seward High alum saw her first minutes, touch and score all within about a minute.

Weides continued, “One (goal) of those was somewhat unique. I think in all my years as a player and a coach, I’ve never seen this. We had Braelyn come in, and on her first touch of her career, she scored a goal. She literally ran into the match, and there was a corner kick. She ended up heading it in, and that was her very first touch as a college soccer player. I thought that was pretty fun. It's a cool thing that I've never seen before.”

Late in the match, substitute Melissa Howard came off the bench and scored her first career goal on a free kick. The junior, out of Menomonee Falls, Wisc., buried the score in the top right corner for the finishing touch from 30 yards out.

Others scoring was Guadalupe Sanchez, Abby Haynes and Kyana Rios. Molli Kalsbeck dialed up two assists and Sierra McElhannon added a dish.

The Bulldogs had 27 shots (16 on target) with Haynes (five), Rios (four), Black (three) and Sanchez (three) leading the charge. Goalkeeper Aliya Vidro gained a shutout with two saves.

Concordia will host Northwestern (8-7, 2-6 GPAC) inside Bulldog Stadium on Saturday (Oct. 24). The Bulldogs will take the field at 1 p.m. CT in Seward.
