SEWARD, Neb. – Maria Deeter is putting together a fine senior season for Concordia University women’s soccer. For the second time in three weeks, Deeter has been named the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, as announced on Tuesday (Oct. 16). The Bulldogs have monopolized the GPAC offensive player of the week honor during the month of October with Brynn Suddeth also being recognized last week.

A Seward native, Deeter enters the week at or near the top of the GPAC in several offensive categories, including first in points (31), tied for second in goals (13) and tied for fourth in assists (five). During last week’s wins over Doane and Dakota Wesleyan, Deeter totaled three goals and one assist. The Lincoln Lutheran product has found the back of the net twice on four occasions this season. Her four game-winning goals are No. 1 on the team and second most in the conference.

Over 77 career games, Deeter has accumulated 36 goals (nine game winners) and 26 assists. She needs two more goals to move into the top five on the program’s all-time list. Deeter has been tabbed GPAC Offensive Player of the Week four times in her career.

Deeter and the Bulldogs (10-1-3, 7-0-1 GPAC) will continue their push for a GPAC regular-season title today (Oct. 16) with a matchup at Mount Marty (1-9, 0-7 GPAC). Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. CT.
