Critical conference points will be on the line this week as the Bulldogs attempt to strengthen their chances of securing a spot in the GPAC tournament. Concordia will host Briar Cliff and then travel to Presentation.
Emotions ran high both prior to kickoff and then throughout the 90 minutes of intense play on Saturday (Oct. 15) evening versus Hastings. The visiting Broncos got a PK goal and saw out the 1-0 victory.
Both teams dealt with strong winds during action Wednesday (Oct. 12) in Omaha. A goal from freshman Niah Kirchner propelled the Bulldogs to the 1-0 victory. Concordia moved to 8-3-2 overall and to 3-3-2 in GPAC play.
Only five games remain in the regular season for the Bulldogs, who are looking to make a move up the GPAC standings down the stretch. Before hosting Hastings on Saturday, the program will honor a class of eight seniors.
Concordia went toe-to-toe with the GPAC leading Jimmies on Saturday (Oct. 8) but couldn't overcome the 14th-minute goal from Aubree Gessel. The Bulldogs managed to limit Jamestown to four shots on goal in their 1-0 defeat.
An impressive strike from Savannah Andrews put the visitors in front in the second half, but the Bulldogs were unable to hold the advantage in a 2-1 loss to Morningside. Concordia dipped to 7-2-2 overall (2-2-2 GPAC).
Back in the win column, the Bulldogs look to carry over that momentum as they take on Morningside and Jamestown this week. Through 10 games, Concordia has outscored its opponents, 27-8.
A flurry of goals and a return to the win column was exactly what the Bulldogs were looking for. Two goals from Ellie Eason helped Concordia to a 5-0 victory over DWU, marking the 100th in Head Coach Thomas Goines' career.
For the first time in 2022, the Bulldogs have tasted defeat. They left Fremont with a 3-1 defeat despite owning an 18-7 advantage in the shot count. Grace Soenksen notched the lone goal for Concordia.
Following two draws last week, the Bulldogs are setting their sights on matchups with Midland and Dakota Wesleyan. Head Coach Thomas Goines' squad will attempt to extend its program record unbeaten streak to begin a season.
