KEARNEY, Neb. – The Concordia women’s tennis team was defeated by the University of Nebraska-Kearney Wednesday afternoon, 7-2. The Lopers are ranked fourth in their region in the NCAA Division II.

Concordia drops to 4-14 on the season while Kearney improves to 16-4.

Head coach Joel Reckewey said, “The women’s team had a tough match against a higher ranked team. They showed good effort and I’m proud of them for that. Annie played really smart to come out at No. 2 singles with a victory.”

Annie Horn won the No. 2 singles match 6-4,6-4 while Hailey Lemos claimed the victory at No. 1 by a default. Lemos and Horn were paired up at No. 1 doubles but did not get the victory in that match. The duo dropped an 8-5 decision to the Lopers.
