Eight Bulldogs earn ITA scholar-athlete; Reach all-academic team status

SEWARD, Neb. – The International Tennis Association (ITA) announced on Thursday (July 24) eight NAIA Scholar-Athletes from Concordia University, Nebraska women’s tennis. The Bulldogs, which earned the honor, were Teya Badger, Tessa Blough, Chakira Derman, Ishane Derman, Brooke Hosick, Nina Milic, Mariana Molano and Alexa Richert. CUNE was also one of 24 squads to make the ITA all-academic teams list.

To be elected for the honor, each student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and be eligible as an athlete. To be chosen as an all-academic team, they must have a collective grade point average of 3.2, and all students listed, including all varsity players, must be eligible. This year, 191 NAIA women’s student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete.

Blough, Molano and Richert also made CSC Academic all-district for the 2024-25 season.  

On the court, these athletes helped lead the team to the NAIA women’s tennis nationals for the first time in the school's history.
