Augustyn picks up GPAC honor

Concordia’s Blake Augustyn (Ord, Neb.) is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Wrestler-of-the-Week. 

Augustyn upset Brad Cusatis of Hastings College in a GPAC dual last week by the score of 8-6.  He helped the Bulldogs to a 30-12 win over the Broncos.  Hastings College was ranked No. 19 in the NAIA at the time.  The win was big for the Concordia wrestling program.  The victory was the first against a GPAC opponent and the first against a nationally ranked opponent.

Augustyn improved his record to 17-11 with the win and is currently ninth in the NAIA.
