2022-23 Preseason Wrestling Ratings: Conference | NAIA National
SEWARD, Neb. – Preseason ratings for NAIA wrestling have been unveiled at both the conference and national levels for 2022-23. Based on the cumulative individual point totals, the Concordia University Wrestling team is ranked sixth in the GPAC while garnering 14 points towards the 2022-23 NAIA Wrestling Coaches’ Preseason Poll. Six of Head Coach Chase Clasen’s wrestlers landed inside the top six of the GPAC ratings within their respective weight classes.
The headlining individual for the Bulldogs this preseason is 141-pounder Creighton Baughman, a transfer from Iowa Western Community College. Baughman was tagged with preseason positionings of second in the GPAC and No. 12 in the NAIA at 141. The Papillion, Neb., native was a two-time National Junior College Athletic Association All-American. Below is a listing of each Concordia wrester ranked at the conference level. The group features sixth-year member of the program Issiah Burks, who has claimed 55 wins in his collegiate career.

The Bulldogs will open the 2022-23 campaign with a dual at Midland on Nov. 1. The season’s first tournament will be the Dan Harris Open hosted by Baker University on Nov. 6. The team will make its first home appearance on Dec. 2 when Bethany College (Kan.) visits for a dual.
