SEWARD, Neb. – One of the dominant winners in last week’s dual with Midland, Concordia University senior Demitrius Miller has been rewarded by GPAC. On Wednesday (Dec. 18) the conference tabbed Miller as the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Wrestler of the Week. Miller is the first Bulldog to earn this honor during the 2019-20 season.
In his fifth year in the program, Miller is putting together the best wrestling of his career. The native of Pueblo, Colo., capped the 54 to -1 victory over Midland with a first-period pin at the heavyweight position. Miller brought roars to the crowd when he lifted his opponent off the mat, took him down and wiped him out by pin. The match lasted only 1:05. Miller is now 7-6 overall with three pins this season. He has competed at all three tournaments on the Concordia schedule.
Next up for head coach Levi Calhoun’s squad is the Desert Duals Classic in Las Vegas on Sunday. That event will wrap up the pre-New Year’s portion of the 2019-20 slate.
