In a return to dual action, Concordia will take on three opponents in Orange City, Iowa, on Saturday. The Bulldogs are coming off a solid showing last week at the Hastings Open.
Coach Levi Calhoun and the Bulldogs took to the mats for the first time in 2021 while in action at the Hastings Open. Issiah Burks and Gabe Crawford turned in place finishes for Concordia.
Junior Mario Ybarra enjoyed a 4-0 day as the wrestling program hosted the Concordia Bulldog Duals on Saturday (Dec. 19). The Bulldogs posted a team win over Oklahoma Wesleyan.
A win over a nationally-ranked opponent allowed Issiah Burks to earn GPAC Wrestler of the Week honors. It's the first career GPAC weekly award for the native of Hemet, Calif.
Seven teams will join Concordia for the Concordia Bulldog Duals this Saturday inside Friedrich Arena. The event will feature 16 duals beginning at 10 a.m. CT.
While hosting their 2020-21 home opener, the Bulldogs came up short in a 28-12 loss to visiting Morningside. Concordia won four individual matches, including a significant one by Issiah Burks.
Following three tournaments and two road duals, the Bulldogs will make their first home appearance of 2020-21 when they host Morningside on Thursday. Concordia has won 10-straight GPAC duals.
In tournament action, five Bulldogs combined for ten wins on Saturday (Dec. 5). The event included wrestlers from 11 institutions, including seven GPAC squads.
In the team's first action in more than two weeks, the Bulldogs won eight of 10 matches in a 38-7 dual victory at Midland on Thursday (Dec. 3). Concordia's GPAC dual win streak moved to 10.
After being idle for over two weeks, Concordia returns to action this week. The defending GPAC champions are readying to visit Midland for a dual on Thursday (Dec. 3) before competing in the Doane Open on Saturday (Dec.5).

Andrew Nicola, most recently an assistant coach at California Baptist University, has been hired as head wrestling coach at Concordia University. He takes the place of former head coach Dana Vote.
