Demitrius Miller recorded one of several dominant victories in the 54 to -1 team win over Midland last week. His pin has earned him the GPAC Wrestler of the Week award, as announced on Dec. 18.
Vegas is next on the journey for the 19th-ranked Concordia wrestling team. The Bulldogs will be back at the Desert Duals for the first time since 2014. The event is held at the Flamingo Hotel in Vegas.
In a dual that lasted just 43 minutes, the 19th-ranked Bulldogs cruised to a 54 to -1 home victory over Midland on Friday (Dec. 13). Concordia won eight matches by bonus points while moving to 3-0 in GPAC duals.
Junior Jason Watkins claimed a runner-up finish at 184 pounds while leading 19th-ranked Concordia at the Doane University Open on Saturday (Dec. 7). The Bulldogs combined for 25 wins and 10 pins.
Co-champions of the GPAC regular season met in Sioux City on Thursday (Dec. 5) with the result being a 23-16 Concordia victory. Darrin Miller clinched the team win in the final bout of the night.
The two squads that shared the GPAC regular-season title last season will battle in Sioux City on Thursday. The 19th-ranked Bulldogs are 1-0 in duals with a victory over Northwestern already under their belt.
For the second tournament in a row, Mario Ybarra earned a place finish while leading the 19th-ranked Bulldogs at UNK's annual tournament. Concordia wrestlers combined for 21 wins.
Michael Stann and Mario Ybarra led the way by pinning their opponents as part of a 29-10 GPAC dual win over Northwestern on Friday (Nov. 15). Concordia won seven of 10 matches over the Red Raiders.
The GPAC dual season will get underway on Friday when Concordia hosts Northwestern inside Walz Arena. The Bulldogs are 33-4 in conference duals over the previous five seasons.
