Prepped at York High School … coached by Eric Rasmussen … lettered all four years … served as a team captain for two years … in cross country, garnered two state medalist awards and four all-conference honors while qualifying for state four times … in track, collected three all-conference awards in the 3,200 meters and two in the 1,600 meters, earned two state medals in the 3,200 and one in the 1,600 and was a three-time state qualifier in the 3,200 and one-time qualifier in the 1,600 … helped the Dukes to back-to-back state cross country appearances … reeled in three academic all-state awards and was a seven semester academic letter winner.
